Viva la Vida- The Museum of Frida Kahlo

“Why would I want feet when I have wings to fly?” -Frida Kahlo

Whether you are a fan of her art or not, it is difficult to not be touched by Frida Kahlo.  Her aesthetic and her life were unique and complex.  The Museum of Frida Kahlo is located in Coyocan, a quiet and quaint area of Mexico City.  You can feel Frida’s presence in every corner of Casa Azul; in the garden, galleries, kitchen, and especially in her studio. Her experiences of joy, sorrow, love, and sickness are all so present that it seems as though she had just lived them yesterday. There were so many photos it is impossible to post them all. For me the most amazing moments were standing in her studio and seeing her wardrobe. Everything she painted, said, and wore was completely her and no one else. Be yourself and live life….how simple and beautiful it is.
